Summer Movie Magic

I apologize again for the lack of posts, finals are rapidly approaching >.<;;  Anyways, I would like to share a quick idea for a fun summer evening - a garden (or backyard) movie! You can easily project a movie on a large white sheet with a speaker. (More instructions found here). Why not enjoy the cool summer evenings with a mori-themed movie party? Include appropriate decor, food at a lovely location.
Here are a few decor ideas...
  • White wooden chairs with plenty of cushions
  • Pretty, comfy old quits and blankets
  • Tea lights in mason jars
  • Fresh wildflower bouquets in glass containers and jars
  • Fairy light strings in trees
  • Paper lanterns
  • Flag banners

Food & drinks....
  • Home-made ice cream topped with fresh berries
  • Home-popped popcorn with sea salt
  • Sweet berry ice teas and lemonade
  • Fruit flavored sodas in glass bottles with straws
  • Yummy cookies and other vintage treats
And a list of mori-esque movies...
  • Anne of Green Gables
  • The Secret Garden
  • Honey & Clover
  • Heavenly Forest (ただ、君を愛してる)
  • My Neighbor Totoro
  • The Borrower Arrietty
I hope you enjoy your cool summer nights in style!

Quick Update + Fashion Show

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've posted, please forgive me. I have been up to something though, I've completed four outfits for a student-run charity fashion show. All hand sewn dresses guys, yup. DX The show is tonight and hopefully someone will take some good shots (I'll be too busy running around backstage to take photos). Wish me luck everyone! Photos will follow soon though, I promise!

Also, I designed a flyer for the event and I thought it'd share it.

Monthly Challenge Theme: Polka Dots

 Theme: Polka Dots

In honor of the adorableness that is Syrup's spring collection, this month's challenge theme is Polka dots. Try coordinating them with unusual pieces, like socks, bags or scarves or mixing and matching colors and sizes. Better yet, look for (or make) pieces using "polka dot" fringe (aka pom-pom balls). Here are a few images for inspiration. Remember to post links to your outfits/responses.

May Lifestyle Ideas

From Syrup's new collection

  • Outfit your breezy dresses with a simple white cotton smock or apron
  • Adopt your own "signature animal" - wear themed jewelry, colors and accessories. I personally love deer and rabbits myself :)
  • Host an outdoor evening garden party. Use mason jars with tea lights, dainty flower centerpieces and hang lanterns or fairy lights in trees. Serve berry themed drinks and desserts as well!
  • Coordinate thin sailor stripes or polka dots into your outfit. Navy and white are traditional, but Syrup has included green and white stripes and lots of polka dots in their new collection
  • Make a small silk flower crown with tiny white flowers and greenery
  • Wear a floppy sun hat to protect your skin from the approaching heat
  • Grown a small tea herb garden - try chamomile, mint and even a mini lemon or lime tree and experiment with tea blends
  • Add some nautical flair to blouses and shirts with sailor collars or ascots
  • If your house or room is over do for a spring cleaning, now's the time to do it! Open windows to let in some fresh spring sun and air
  • Add small pops of pastel yellow for added spring energy in your outfits

New Stamps

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share the new adorable stamps (and erasers) I recently bought.

First up is an adorable (and large) baby bunny surrounded by leaves

Next is a set of four vintage air mail-type stamps

And finally are my two flavors of crepe erasers

The best part is they were all on sale! I can't wait to use them :)
