Challenge: Sea Life

As the weather warms up my feet begin itching to get to the water. Unfortunately, living in the middle of Texas means that my water-front options are limited. While there is a reasonable selection of lakes and rivers, nothing beats the beach. Not just for swimming, but shell collecting and animal watching. Aquariums are another favorite spot of mine because I get to experience all of the sea life I want without pink cheeks and sandy tones. If you haven't guessed yet, this month's theme is sea life! I suggest cute critters like sea horses, jellyfish and sea gulls. Draw inspiration from any critters you would normally find at the beach. Include nautical stripes and color pallets for an extra beachy feel ♥

Monthly Challenge Theme: Mint

 Theme: Mint

In honor of spring and everything that is new, beautiful and vibrant, this month's challenge theme is mint! The color, the taste, the plant, everything! Mint happens to be just about my favorite color as well! It's cool, refreshing and attractive. Not quite green, not quite blue and just wonderful. Did you know that in many cultures, mint symbolized hospitality and was offered as a sign of welcome and friendship to guests as they arrived? Let's welcome spring this way!

Anyways, I encourage you to add a splash of mint into your life this month! Paint a wall, paint a bike, paint a picture frame, anything you like. If this theme sounds extra tasty, why not try one of these recipes? At the very least, add a small pop of mint to your outfit! May I suggest a light scarf, watch, sweater, nail polish, or cute thigh high socks c:

I'm loving these back packs!

Monthly Challenge Theme: Ducks

Wouldn't this look nice with a cute white cardigan and boater hat?
 Theme: Ducks

March is the time of year where I live for rainstorms and green shoots of grass popping up between cement cracks, and of course, ducks! ♥ If you read my last few posts, you may have noticed that the retention pond by my house is full and filled with little duckies (that were too far away for me to photograph). Anyways, if you haven't guessed it, this month's theme is ducks! And how exactly are you going to incorporate ducks into your mori-life? Well let me suggest a few ideas: feed some ducks (of course - but try to use food specifically for ducks), where an outfit with a duck motif, in duck colors, wear feather accessories, make duck-shaped cookies, draw pictures with ducks, learn a duck call (haha!) or raid the Easter section of your local grocery or department store for duck-themed goodies ♥

Monthly Challenge Theme: Roses

Theme: Roses

In honor of February and St. Valentine's Day, this month's challenge theme is roses ♥ This can mean rose motifs, scents, flavors, gardening, cute rose crowns, rosy cheeks and just about anything else!

I recently made some rose water brownies and got many complements on them :) This blog also has a recipe for rose jelly - yum!
(I didn't use this recipe, though, I just replaced ~1 tsp of the amount of water it called for on the box with rose water)

Monthly Challenge Theme: What's in Your Bag?

You may have guessed this theme from the January tips, but it's "what's in my bag?"
For some unknown reason, I love these ♥ Especially the illustrated versions that can be found on Pixiv.

Theme:  what's in my bag?

Whether it's a photo or illustration, please link to your own bag posts! I will be doing an updated one shortly, but I love seeing what other people carry, it says a lot about them; their style, interests, and what gets them by during the day.

Monthly Challenge Theme: Evergreen

Theme: Evergreen

This month's challenge theme is obviously winter themed ^_^. By "evergreen" I mean the color, the scent, texture, motifs, anything that has to do with beautiful evergreen trees. Perhaps try a photo shoot in an evergreen forest, a trip to a Christmas tree farm, bring home a tiny tree or create an illustration study on needles and pine cones. The rest is up to you, don't forget to post your results!

Monthly Challenge Theme: Fawn Print

Theme: Fawn prints

This is by far my favorite challenge so far ♪ I can safely say I have an (unhealthy) obsession with all things deer. Motifs, faux fur, prints, make-up, everything. The challenge this month is to do something with fawn spots. Make a collar, a vest, a cute bag, anything. And if you find any sites selling faux fur fabric, PLEASE share. I have yet to find any (besides my Disney children's jacket u_u)

Bonus: I just bought this handmade collar!!! ;A; My first real fawn item~
P.S. I was a deer for Halloween c: photos soon!

Anyways, onto inspiration photos~ (photos from EGL, Tumblr, etc. Feel free to comment if they are your and you would like to be credited).

Monthly Challenge Theme: Pompoms

This month's theme is obviously inspired by Wonder Rocket's wonderful beret ♫

Pompons are not only cute on berets, try using them on hair elastics, fringe around collars and jackets, cellphone/bag charms or even cute earrings~ Fawn & Doll has made a cute and easy tutorial to make your own Wonder Rocket inspired beret. (The berets themselves can be found quite cheaply on Ebay).

I don't remember exactly who all of these photos belong to, so please comment so I can add proper credit!

Also, you can make a tiny cute rabbit ♥

Have fun and don't forget to comment with your results!

Monthly Challenge Theme: Socks & Tights

Sorry for the late post, September arrived so quickly!
From Cath's blog, I believe
Theme: Socks & Tights

Autumn is just around the corner (not where I live though, I can't remember the last non-three digit temperature day ;A;). Hopefully you're having better weather, so why not show off your collection of socks and tights for the upcoming cold weather? Do you like lacey ankle socks or patterned tights? Knit socks or loose socks? Try layering socks over colored/patterned tights, or let them peek out of open-toed shoes!
